Guide to use scientific-calculator
1. Know the Basic Layout
Most scientific calculators have:
- Number keys (0-9)
- Basic operations: +, -, *, /
- Advanced functions: sqrt (square root), x^2 (square), 1/x (reciprocal), EXP/EE (scientific notation)
- Trigonometric functions: sin, cos, tan
2. Performing Basic Calculations
Example:
To calculate 8 + 5:
- Press: 8 + 5 =
- Display shows: 13
3. Using Exponents and Roots
Square of 6:
- Press: 6 x^2 -> Shows: 36
Square root of 81:
- Press: sqrt 81 or 81 sqrt -> Shows: 9
4. Trigonometric Functions
Make sure your calculator is in the correct mode:
Example: sin(30 degrees):
- Press: sin 30 = -> Answer: 0.5 )
5. Scientific Notation
To enter 3 * 10^5:
- Press: 3 EXP 5 or 3 EE 5 -> Shows: 300000
